Diablo 2: Resurrected is just a few months away, Blizzard announced at Xbox’s E3 2021 livestream. The remaster of the classic game will launch on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X on Sept. 23.
Blizzard also announced an upcoming multiplayer beta set for August, which will only be available on certain platforms.
The upcoming beta will feature five (Amazon, Barbarian, Paladin, Sorceress, and Druid) of the game’s seven class. Players who pre-order Diablo 2: Resurrected will get early access to the beta. The full game will include the Necromancer or Assassin classes.
Blizzard originally announced Diablo 2: Resurrected at BlizzConline earlier this year. In an interview with Diablo executive producer Rod Ferguson, he stressed that Resurrected is a remaster, not a remake. During the technical alpha earlier this year, we found Diablo 2 to be faithful to a fault — just as Blizzard promised — but that the addition of controller support made all the difference for a newer player.
Diablo 2: Resurrected will cost $39.99. Blizzard is also offering the Diablo Prime Evil Collection — which will cost $59.99 — which includes Diablo 2: Resurrected, the Diablo 3 Eternal Collection, and some cosmetics for Diablo 3.
