Developers of Dustborn Did Not Steal Apartment Design from GTA Online
On August 20th, a game titled Dustborn was released, and within less than a week, reports emerged that the developers had plagiarized assets from GTA Online. The unusual similarities between the apartments in the two games were noticed by HeySlickThatsMe (original post already deleted).
It was revealed that developers from Red Thread Game were not at fault—they simply used an asset created on the Unity platform, which is available for purchase for $60. Experienced players easily recognize the design as the updated interior of high-end apartments in “Online.”
The creator of the purchased asset does not hide that he took everything from the game, calling it a “reference” in the comments under one of his videos.
