Dead Space Remake: cut scenes and other new bonuses? The cookie's loose creative director

By confirming the existence of the Dead Space remake during its EA Play Live on July 22, Electronic Arts generated quite a hype around this license which deserves a return worthy of the name. If most people were very happy to find the adventures of Issac Clarke, others believe that a remake is insufficient. For Electronic Arts, bringing the franchise back from the dead is a highly perilous challenge. Because even though, it enjoys a strong aura among hardcore gamers, on the side of the general public, the series has never resulted in colossal sales. Despite this, we have had news from the developers, and from the EA Motive studio which manages it so that it returns in a new next gen ‘setting with the most beautiful effect. The creative director of the game, Roman Campos-Oriola, spoke to our colleagues at IGN.com to give some details on this eagerly awaited comeback.

He explains that the objective is indeed to resuscitate a horror game, but also to go beyond the simple remake. Indeed, EA Motive has access to all the original assets of the game originally developed by Visceral Games, which includes many elements that were not kept in the game, due to technical constraints. Thirteen years later, these obstacles no longer really exist on next gen ‘consoles, which means that we could have new scenes, which would offer more surprises even to those who know the game by heart. Better still, Roman Campos-Oriola explains having thought about integrating elements of the other two episodes of Dead Space, in particular on the lore, but also in terms of gameplay, like the famous zones without gravity that we had been able to experience in Dead Space 2 To mark the occasion, the creative director of EA Motive explains that this is a real remake, everything being reworked from scratch, knowing that new animations have also been added to the different characters and other creatures. Enough to make the hypometer climb even higher.

Dead Space is expected to release in 2022 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X | S.
