Days Gone 2: the game has been reset by Sony, the big revelation of Jason Schreier

Those who thought that Days Gone 2 was in development on PS5 can give it up. Indeed, Jason Schreier (via Bloomberg) reveals today that Sony Interactive Entertainment simply failed the developers of Bend Studio when they came to pitch the continuation of the adventures of Deacon St. John. A decision which is surprising, because even if the press was not as rave as with The Last of Us 2, some consider Days Gone to be largely under-rated compared to other productions of the same genre. And then, we must not forget that the game was profitable, which is not negligible when we know that economic factors are often the priority.

In fact, it is the chaotic development of the first episode that would have pushed Sony Interactive Entertainment not to give the green light, the latter preferring to ask some of the Bend Studio teams to work with Naughty Dog on a multi-oriented game. As for the other part, still according to the confidences of Jason Schreier, it would have been entrusted with the development of a new Uncharted under the supervision of Naughty Dog. Some executives at Bend Studio, absolutely not thrilled by the idea, are said to have decided to jump ship. As for the others, fearing to be absorbed in the long term by Naughty Dog, they went out of their way to have the project withdrawn from them. A request to which Sony Interactive Entertainment decided to comply last March.

Today, Bend Studio is at work on its own game, while it is not known whether this mysterious Uncharted will stay forever in a box or be passed on to another studio.
