Capcom boss says the dev is “back” following Devil May Cry 5 launch

Following this week’s launch of Devil May Cry 5, Capcom USA CEO Kiichiro Urata proclaims that “Capcom is back!”

Devil May Cry 5 launched a number of days in the past to positive reviews – even our personal Kirk McKeand was impressed, saying “Capcom is a master of the genre it spawned,” in his overview. The studio seems to share the sentiment, as proof by a current tweet from DMC 5 producer, Matt Walker.

The studio has been on a roll for some time now, with 2017’s Resident Evil 7 hitting its target of 4 million units shipped, and Resident Evil 2 shipping 3 million copies in its first week.

Neither title has been as profitable for the developer as Monster Hunter: World which earned the achievement of being Capcom’s best-selling game ever.

Urata-san will be seen holding what appears to be like like a scrumptious Dante cake pop, however disappointingly, he didn’t chomp its head off.

According to Twisted Voxel, DMC 5 had the second-most profitable Steam launch for Capcom, after Monster Hunter: World, with a peak of 88.7k players since its launch.
