Williamsburg, Brooklyn dance music membership Output is closing, the founders and operators introduced at the moment. The membership will shut completely on January 1, 2019, following a “marathon” New Year’s Eve set by DJ/producer John Digweed. “This sudden turn of events may seem shocking to many, but for those of us watching from the inside, we have seen the writing on the wall for some time,” Nicolas Matar, Bo Pittman, and Shawn Schwartz wrote.

“A confluence of factors contributed to the club’s misfortune; rapidly shifting social trends, unfavorable market conditions, and weakening financial outlooks coincided with the simultaneous emergence of multiple existential challenges unique to the club’s circumstances.” Read the Output founders/operators’ full assertion under.

Output opened in January 2013. As Matar, Pittman, and Schwartz wrote, “The mission was to establish a proper home for the music-focused underground which ahd been displaced by Manhattan‘s wealth and celebrity-obsessed nightlife.” Output was devoted primarily to deal with and techno music. The venue hosted units from a variety of artists, together with LCD Soundystem’s James Murphy, Gesaffelstein, James Blake, Maya Jane Coles, Prins Thomas, and plenty of others.
