Bloomberg: Apple Tests New Apple Watch SE with Plastic Case

According to analyst Mark Gurman, Apple is considering a new version of the Apple Watch SE with a plastic case, instead of the aluminum used in the SE 1st and 2nd generations.

There are no additional details at this time. It is currently unclear whether this will be a separate budget version of the watch or the only option for the SE 3rd generation. There are also no guarantees that the plastic case version will ever be released, as it is currently only one of the possible options being tested.

If the plastic SE does go on sale, it could reduce the starting price of the watch, which is currently $249. For comparison, the most affordable Samsung smartwatches start at $199.

It is worth noting that in the 2nd generation of Apple Watch SE, Apple has already started using a more affordable material: a back made of nylon composite instead of ceramic.
