Telegram Update 11.2 Released: More Options for Content Complaints, Virtual Gifts, Updated Video Chats on iOS, and More
• More Reasons for Reporting Inappropriate Content
The “Report” menu now offers more complaint options. Now, unwanted messages can be marked as “Phishing,” “Illegal Goods,” “Copyright Infringement,” or “Personal Data.”
• Virtual Gifts
Users can now send gifts to each other using “Stars.” These are animated images to which a message can be added. Gifts will appear on a separate tab in the user’s profile and can also be exchanged back for “Stars.”
• New Video Chat Design on iOS
The iOS version has its video chat interface updated. Now, during group video calls, Telegram consumes less battery power.
• RTMP Format for Broadcasts on Android
Telegram for Android now supports live broadcasts in RTMP mode. This feature has been available on iOS for several years.
• Sending Verification Codes Within the App
App developers can now use Telegram to send verification codes to users. Codes are purchased through the Fragment platform at a cost of $0.01 per code.
