Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus Shares Post-Chemotherapy Photo After Cancer Diagnosis

Blink-182 singer and bassist Mark Hoppus has shared the first photo of himself after revealing his cancer diagnosis in June.

The 49-year-old rocker — who has been undergoing chemotherapy for several months — took to social media on Sunday (July 4) to wish fans a happy Independence Day and share a smiling picture of himself with a bald head and wearing black sunglasses.

“The Cancer Haver wishes you all a very happy Fourth of July weekend,” Hoppus captioned the snapshot on Twitter.

On June 23, the Blink-182 member opened up on social media about the diagnosis and how he’s remaining “hopeful and positive” for a cancer-free future.

“For the past three months I’ve been undergoing chemotherapy for cancer. I have cancer,” Hoppus wrote. “It sucks and I’m scared, and at the same time I’m blessed with incredible doctors and family and friends to get me through this. I still have months of treatment ahead of me but I’m trying to remain hopeful and positive. Can’t wait to be cancer free and see you all at a concert in the near future. Love to you all.”

The following week, Hoppus dropped into a game of Blinko on Twitch to play with fans and answer some questions about his health.

“How am I feeling today? I feel much better than yesterday,” he said near the top of the nearly 45-minute session of online bingo. “Yesterday was hellish for me and I woke up today feeling better — I went for a walk, and I had a decent breakfast, and I haven’t felt like I was going to throw up today, so we’ll take it as a win.”
