Only days after the debut of five new additions to the Overwatch roster, Blizzard has deployed a targeted patch to recalibrate hero performance. While the majority of the cast faces nerfs, Emre has escaped the chopping block, and Anran has received substantial offensive buffs. These changes focus on her raw damage output and a critical adjustment to how her Fan the Flame mechanic interacts with armor—a shift that carries more tactical weight than it initially appears.
Domina leads the list of adjustments. For the time being, Blizzard is leaving her primary fire’s impressive reach and range-extending perks untouched, focusing instead on her defensive utility by making her barrier panels easier to dismantle. Interestingly, players noticed a developer comment on an Emongg video regarding “stealth” nerfs not listed in the official documentation. These undocumented changes prevent her crystal charge from siphoning shields from deployable objects and stop self-healing from contributing to her ultimate charge—adjustments that have since been verified through in-game testing.
The update also provides Emre with improved lethality; his grenades now boast a wider blast radius, and his effective damage range while aiming down sights has been extended. This should make him a more reliable counter to aerial threats like Jetpack Cat. Meanwhile, Anran’s primary fire is now more punishing, and her Fan the Flames is officially categorized as a beam attack. This classification means armor only mitigates 30% of its damage, allowing her to melt through sturdier opponents with greater efficiency.
As for Jetpack Cat, her controversial ultimate remains intact, but her mobility has been reigned in with a reduction to her fuel regeneration. Finally, Vendetta’s sustain has been dialed back, with her lifesteal passive seeing a 10% reduction.
