Warner Bros. is preparing two new movies for “The Lord of the Rings”
This was announced by the head of the film company, David Zaslav, at a meeting with investors.
The next film will be “The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum”. Andy Serkis will act as the director and the lead role. The script is in the early stages of development, and the premiere is preliminarily scheduled for 2026.
There is little information about the second film yet, but it is already known that both upcoming films will be produced by Peter Jackson, who will “oversee every stage of creation”, as well as Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, who worked on the scripts for the original trilogy and “The Hobbit”.
In writing the script for “The Hunt for Gollum”, Walsh, Boyens, and the authors of the anime “The Lord of the Rings: The War of Rohirrim”, Arti Papageorgiou and Phoebe Gittins, will also take part.
