Season 2 of The Last of Us series will not cover all the events of the game sequel.
There will only be seven episodes in the second season. The showrunners mention that this will not be enough to fully cover the plot of The Last of Us Part II, so the game’s storyline will be spread across several more seasons.
The second season will have a logical conclusion, but there is enough story material to cover up to four seasons, within the plot of the two existing games.
However, HBO has not yet renewed the series beyond the second season, and everything depends on future ratings.
