Taking a look at Palworld – a hit survival game styled after Pokemon and The Legend of Zelda
• the game greatly resembles The Legend of Zelda series as well as Pokemon. Not only the gameplay and interface match, but also the open-world design;
• you’ll be let loose in a spacious natural environment full of ruins, towers, and dungeons, with fast travel points on the map;
• the world is populated by vibrant creatures clearly inspired by Pokemon, if not directly copied with slight changes – for example, you can encounter Pokemon with guns. You need to catch them, build farms, level them up, and take them with you into battle;
• along with that, you are required to collect resources and gradually build a base, maintaining the farm and health of the creatures;
• once your home life and equipment are sorted, you’ll have to face off against another hunter and their pet for unique rewards;
• a cooperative mode is available in the game, but you won’t be able to fight against other players.
Palworld — an interesting experiment that’s rightfully gaining popularity. Less than two days after its release, the game has sold over 2 million copies, and its Steam online player count has surpassed 600,000.
The game was released in early access, but already stands out from other survival games. The ‘Pokemon’ concept could be a unique feature that allows for player retention and long-term development of the project.
Palworld is now available on PC and Xbox Series via the Game Pass subscription.
