Owners of iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max are reporting issues with touch recognition
More and more users of Apple’s latest flagships are reporting that their iPhone periodically fails to recognize touch on the screen. Most likely, the problem is software-related and connected to a very sensitive setting for accidental touch protection features.
The iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max have the thinnest bezels among all iPhone models to date, so Apple implemented this feature to prevent accidental touches along the edges of the display.
It turns out that when the protection activates, the screen may lose sensitivity for fractions of a second across the entire surface, causing touches to go unrecognized.
The issue is present on iOS 18 and iOS 18.1 beta. Apple has not yet commented on it.
