The EU may allow competitors to use NFC technology in Apple Pay in May
Apple has been forced to grant competitors access to the NFC module to intensify competition in the contactless payments market.
Now, users can choose the application that will open when making a payment by phone. This only applies to devices located within the European Union.
Lately, Apple has been making significant concessions, opening more and more elements of its closed system. The company used to cite high confidentiality and data protection when explaining why it held a monopoly in the contactless payment sector.
