The Witcher 3: here is Geralt de Riv's bath scene with PS1 graphics

If there is one phenomenon that has been on the rise in video games in recent years, it is demakes. It is neither more nor less than degrading a modern iconic game to make it appear as an earlier version, retro if possible. Generally, it is the “PS1” style graphics which are used, since at the time, 3D was in its infancy, the modeling of the characters and the sets were ultra geometric, the textures pixelated to death and the rendering necessarily obsolete. . Recently, it is the Cyberpunk 2077 game which had been passed to the mill of the PS1 demake, Bloodborne also a few years ago; but today, it is the turn of The Witcher 3 to be entitled to it. It was also a certain Anders Lundbjörk who was responsible for the physical transformation of the game, he who had already taken care of Cyberpunk 2077 last December.

To do this, he chose a cult scene from the CD game Projekt Red, the one where Geralt de Riv calmly takes his bath in a wooden basin, revealing his stumps, and accompanied by a Yenefer buttocks up. Obviously, with such a cubic and pixelated visual rendering, the scene loses all its charm, and this is probably the reason why our developer decided to change the end to turn it into a humorous version. We see indeed that Geralt is carried on a card of the Gwent game, which earned him reproaches from Yennefer who then took a nasty “Shut up” from Geralt. Worse, he worsens his situation by saying, it is quoted: “Triss is my Waifu”. No wonder Yennefer uses his powers to teleport him into the ocean and get devoured by a Drowner, those bluish-skinned underwater creatures. The video has been online for barely 3 days and has already accumulated more than 270,000 views at the time of this writing.
