The Information: Apple is actively developing a foldable iPhone
According to known data, the company has been developing since 2018, but in 2020 the project was frozen and Apple’s attention shifted to a foldable iPad.
At the moment, work on the iPhone in a “clamshell” form factor has resumed, there are at least two prototypes, but Apple’s perfectionism hinders the device’s quick release: the company strives to make a device that, when folded, would be no thicker than a regular iPhone, and its flexible display would not have any folds. So far, technology does not allow to achieve such results.
With such an approach, it will probably take a very long time to wait for the release.
