“Sparta 2035” developers explain troubled launch and outline fixes

The game will receive a major patch designed to fix numerous issues.

The full release of the turn-based tactics title “Sparta 2035” (Sparta 2035) was launched recently. The rollout wasn’t smooth — players reported a variety of problems.

The developers spoke to the community and explained what went wrong:

After release, many players encountered significant technical issues and an overly punishing difficulty curve — especially in the early stages. We see and acknowledge these problems. To be frank: we tried to take on too much at once with a small team, tight deadlines, and no extra budget. Following Early Access the volume of content increased severalfold, and we simply didn’t have the internal capacity for thorough testing. We underestimated how much the scope had expanded and how that would affect Sparta’s balance and stability.

The creators of Sparta 2035 opted against issuing a string of micro-patches; instead, they’re preparing a single comprehensive update that should holistically address the main technical faults, rebalance difficulty, and more.

Their immediate priorities include fixing the following:

  • crashes and freezes;
  • errors when loading save files;
  • critical bugs that prevent progression.

The patch is expected to be released no later than November 24.
