Sony Patents Gameplay Rewind Button
The feature described in the patent will allow players to place bookmarks anywhere in the game, which can be quickly accessed by pressing a new button on the gamepad. Additionally, the technology will automatically set bookmarks at key locations.
This is useful if you need to replay a certain part of the game, but the nearest save point is far away or nonexistent. It will also allow players to refresh their memory of a past storyline dialogue and instantly return to the current gameplay with the press of the same button.
Furthermore, the button will allow the skipping of any cutscene, even if the game developers did not provide such an option.
Whether this button will ever be implemented remains unknown.
