Sony Reportedly Bringing Death Stranding 2 to PC Soon

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach may be headed to PC — a now-removed ESRB entry listed the game for Windows, suggesting a forthcoming PC release. See the ESRB listing.

Polygon has contacted Sony for comment about the possible PC version and will update this article if the company responds.

The title carries an M (Mature) rating for strong language, partial nudity, and violence. The ESRB summary highlights some of the game’s more extreme moments — including the use of a “battle guitar” as a melee weapon and a scene in which a man’s hands and legs are severed by a robotic samurai.

Historically, Sony-published exclusives often arrive on Windows roughly a year — sometimes up to two — after their PlayStation debuts. (Simultaneous PC and console launches like Helldivers 2 are unusual.) For context, the original Death Stranding reached Windows about eight months after its PlayStation 4 release, while Stellar Blade launched on Steam approximately 14 months after its PS5 debut.

Because the ESRB listing named Sony Interactive Entertainment under the game’s publisher, it appears Sony may handle the PC release for Death Stranding 2. By contrast, 505 Games managed the Windows ports of the first game (including the Director’s Cut) — they are listed on the game’s PC ESRB pages. View the PC ESRB pages.

Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding 2: On the Beach opened to strong critical praise over the summer; reviewers commended it as a polished, ambitious follow-up that preserves much of the original’s mesmerizing atmosphere while streamlining some of its rougher edges. The game is currently available on PS5.
