The cultural phenomenon Heated Rivalry has officially extended its reach into the musical landscape, unveiling its highly anticipated original series soundtrack this Friday, January 16.
Released under the Milan Records banner, the 34-track compilation showcases an evocative original score by acclaimed artist and composer Peter Peter. Representing his first foray into television scoring, the project is currently accessible across all major streaming platforms and available for digital purchase. Devoted collectors can also look forward to physical CD and vinyl editions, which are slated for release later this year.
The acclaimed series made its debut on the Canadian streaming service Crave on November 28, premiering simultaneously in the United States via HBO Max. A poignant romantic drama adapted from Rachel Reid’s celebrated Game Changers book series, the show stars Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams as rival hockey stars Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander. The narrative follows the pair as they navigate a clandestine romance while maintaining their high-stakes professional personas.
Jacob Tierney, the creative mind behind Heated Rivalry, personally sought out Peter Peter to craft the show’s sonic identity. Tierney previously noted that music was never intended to be an afterthought, but rather a central pillar of the production. He described Peter’s compositions as the “pulse” of the series, stating that the music doesn’t simply accompany the story—it drives the emotional rhythm and brings the on-screen chemistry to life in a way he couldn’t have imagined otherwise.

Reflecting on the creative process, Peter Peter admitted that the project pushed his artistic boundaries. He shared that composing for Heated Rivalry revealed facets of his musicality he had long hoped to explore but hadn’t yet dared to. Deeply committed to honoring the vision of Tierney and Reid, the composer remarked that he poured “every ray of light” he possessed into the score.
Before making his mark on the world of television scores, Peter Peter established a formidable discography with five solo studio albums, including his most recent 2024 offering, Éther.
