Sonos Officially Unveils Its First Headphones, Ace — The Top Competitor to AirPods Max

The American home audio and multi-room system manufacturer, Sonos, has introduced its first-ever set of headphones, which are greatly inspired by the AirPods Max — both in design and structure.

Featuring similar replaceable ear cushions with magnets, the omission of the 3.5 mm jack, and an overall design that nods to the AirPods Max — including glossy steel bands that send a clear homage.

Inside, future owners will find custom 40-mm drivers, support for lossless audio both via USB-C cable and Bluetooth 5.4 through aptX Lossless, 8 microphones for noise cancellation and voice transmission, Dolby Atmos spatial audio, and up to 30 hours of battery life with active noise cancellation or transparency mode.

Owners of the Sonos Arc soundbars (and later, Beam and Ray) will be able to transmit a sort of virtual map of the room with multi-channel sound settings tailored to your specific space to the headphones, creating the sensation of a full home theater in the headphones.

The headphones are available for pre-order at $449 starting from today.
