Solo series about Stewie Griffin

Seth MacFarlane Teases Potential Stewie Griffin Solo Project

The mastermind behind Family Guy, Seth MacFarlane, has hinted that a standalone venture centered on the iconic toddler, Stewie Griffin, may be in development. This revelation came during a recent PaleyFest event celebrating the long-running animated sitcom’s 25th anniversary.

While MacFarlane refrained from confirming whether the project would take the form of a feature-length film or a dedicated spin-off series, he acknowledged the character’s immense popularity and the narrative potential of a solo outing. Fans have long clamored for more focus on Stewie’s sophisticated yet villainous escapades, and it appears the creative team is finally entertaining those ideas.

Despite these new prospects, MacFarlane reassured audiences that the flagship series isn’t going anywhere. He noted that there are currently “no plans” to conclude Family Guy, as the show continues to maintain a strong presence in the cultural zeitgeist. As the franchise hits its quarter-century milestone, a Stewie-centric expansion would mark a significant new chapter for the Quahog universe.
