Rumor: Nintendo Switch 2 power to reach 4 teraflops in dock station
The authors of the Broken Silicon podcast stated that NVIDIA aims to achieve a power of 4 teraflops in stationary mode, which is comparable to the Xbox Series S.
However, in portable mode, the console will again operate in low-performance mode, below 800 MHz. This is intended for better autonomy, low heat, and noise levels.
The podcast authors also discussed ray tracing on the Nintendo Switch 2. They suggest that the technology may appear in exclusive Nintendo games, but third-party developers will more often use NVIDIA DLSS to achieve better quality and performance.
The Nintendo Switch 2 has not yet been officially announced. But several sources are already saying that the console will be released at the end of this year or the beginning of the next. The announcement may take place as early as June.
