Rumor: iPhone 18 might feature a variable aperture camera
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reports that Sunny Optical will be the supplier of variable aperture cameras for Apple. Sunny Optical has proven itself in the production of similar modules for Android smartphones, which is one of the reasons for Apple’s interest. Among such models are the latest photo flagships from Xiaomi and Huawei.
The first smartphones in the world with adjustable aperture were the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus in 2018. Samsung later abandoned this technology, but with Apple’s involvement, the trend might become relevant again.
