The madness of mini consoles, or mini arcade machines is far from over, since Capcom has just made official the existence of the famous Retro Station that Amazon Japan leaked last month. The brand had also announced a release for December 1 in the land of quality sushi, but it is finally in March 2021 that it will be possible to get your hands on this retro arcade version miniaturized. To do this, you will have to pay 21,780 yen, which is equivalent to a little more than 170 of our euros, knowing that for this price, you will be entitled to a machine equipped with an 8-inch LCD screen (format 4 : 3 with a resolution of 1024×768), 10W speakers, an HDMI output to be able to connect it to a modern television and thus enjoy the 10 pre-installed games.
Of course, in order to honor the Capcom heritage, this Retro Station sports a design reminiscent of Mega Man’s helmet, the color codes that go with it. In terms of dimensions, it’s not very big, but it will already be more readable than the NeoGeo Mini: 238mm wide, 270mm deep and 234mm high. Moreover, the machine will be delivered with a USB Type-C power supply (hallelujah!) And a paper installation guide. To play for two, you will need to purchase an additional arcade stick, the Retro Station Fightstick, priced at 6,908 yen, or around € 55. Finally, know that it is Gantaku who takes care of the manufacturing, the same company which was responsible for producing the NeoGeo Mini.
Here is the list of the 10 games pre-installed in the Retro Station:
– Mega Man The Power Battle
– Mega Man 2 The Power Fighters
– Mega Man Soccer, Mega Man X
– Mega Man & Bass in Japanese version (Rockman & Forte)
– Street Fighter 2
