Looking for extra hands in the fields? Or perhaps you need some support. Not only have we enhanced the precision and reliability of our AI assistants, but now every vehicle can be equipped with a GPS-guided steering system to make farming more efficient. Of course, if you prefer the traditional approach, that’s entirely up to you.
Get ready, as Farming Simulator 25 is launching in just a few days! There’s still an opportunity to pre-order and receive the MacDon Pack as a bonus. The game will be released for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on November 12th.
Pressing the button to deploy an AI worker allows a virtual assistant to take over immediately. However, holding the button will reveal some additional configuration options.
The first mode, “AI worker,” focuses on optimizing your digital helper’s performance. Ideal settings are pre-set, and you can visualize how the helper will operate based on field dimensions and contour.
- The Working Width is determined by the tool engaged in the task. If multiple tools are attached, you can adjust the width to accommodate overlaps.
- The Number of Headlands is tailored to the equipment and task but can be adjusted as needed.
- Working the Headlands instructs your assistant whether the designated area should be managed like the rest of the field or merely used as paths for turning vehicles.
- Starting Strategy specifies whether the assistant should begin by working on the headland first or at the end, depending on the task, such as to preserve crops during harvesting or when plowing.
- Line Skipping gives your helper room to leave spaces between lines, allowing you extra maneuverability for your equipment.
Once the AI worker initiates, they will determine the most efficient machine operation direction while keeping your pre-configured settings in mind. Priority is always given to staying within field boundaries.
Prefer to handle the machinery yourself instead of delegating the task to an AI assistant? You can enjoy this option with any tractor in the game, as you can upgrade older models with GPS capabilities. Quite handy, isn’t it?
Switching from the AI Worker menu to the Steering Assist selection offers several options to personalize how the steering assistant manages the field.
- The Working Width is set according to the equipment in use.
- The Number of Headlands is likewise customizable and defaults to the tool selected.
- Work Direction can be adjusted by degrees, in case you want to avoid facing the sun directly at midday or for similar reasons.
- Side Offset is adjustable for tools that are mounted offset, like specific mowers.
- Show Lines toggles the visibility of 3D guidance lines seen on the field, whether you’re in a third-person perspective or looking at the ground from inside the cab.
With the lines dynamically displayed, you can always monitor the machine’s operation. The HUD will show a “ready” status on the dashboard once you’ve aligned the machine with a line and it’s ready to begin.
The chosen line appears in orange and will switch to green as soon as you start moving. In the meantime, your machine’s working width is shown using blue lines. Lines still to be worked on appear in white and turn grey once completed.
