Introducing the first tablet with electronic paper running at 60 Hz — Daylight DC-1

The tablet is released by the American startup Daylight Computer. The main feature of the new product is its display, which uses Live Paper technology, an improved version of RLCD.

RLCD is an LCD panel that does not emit light like the E-Ink matrices in e-books, but the technologies differ: RLCD and Live Paper do not leave an image on the screen when the device is turned off.

The key feature of the Live Paper panel is its 60 Hz refresh rate: the picture updates smoothly without residual images on the screen. Additionally, the panel has a warm backlight with almost zero flicker coefficient and multiple intensity levels for reading in the dark.

Inside, it has a MediaTek Helio G99 processor, 8/128 GB of memory + microSD slot, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5, 8000 mAh battery, and charging with Power Delivery support. It also supports a Wacom stylus, which comes with the tablet along with replaceable tips.

The first shipment is scheduled for July. Price — $729 (~66,800 ₽).
