The PlayStation 6 could be built on ARM architecture
Users have found a job listing from Sony, according to which the company is looking for a developer to work with “new types of processors”. This could be an indirect confirmation of rumors that the PlayStation 6 processor will be built on ARM architecture.
Moving to ARM could significantly boost the console’s performance for future next-generation games, but it could also mean that PS4 and PS5 games would run via an emulator if backward compatibility is maintained at all.
Previously, there were also rumors on the Internet that the next-generation Xbox would switch from x86 architecture to ARM.
