Despite the lack of traditional fanfare, the team quickly noticed something special. “We saw almost immediately how magnetic the gameplay was; every session seemed to produce a moment perfect for a social media sensation,” Kaman added. “When we joined the Landfall team in Sweden for the launch, we expected a quiet vacation. Instead, the player base exploded, and we found ourselves tackling a mountain of bugs instead of relaxing.”

Recognizing the scale of their success, the developers pivoted quickly. “We’ve since treated it with the gravity of a major release, utilizing our collective experience to scale up operations,” Kaman explained. Nevertheless, they are careful not to lose the magic that started it all. “We strive to keep that experimental, game-jam energy alive in our updates, as that authenticity really seems to connect with our audience.”

Valve recently distributed their annual gifts to top-performing Steam developers, and the Peak team is thrilled to finally join those elite ranks.
