This past year marked a monumental milestone for the franchise, as we welcomed millions of veteran players and newcomers alike during what became the most prolific launch in our history.
Our initial release came with a pledge to deliver substantial monthly updates and evolving content. Following a high-octane Season 1 in 2025—which featured the unexpected arrival of REDSEC, the intense urban warfare of California Resistance, and our festive Winter Offensive—we are entering the new year with a renewed focus on the road ahead.
In our pursuit of excellence, we have carefully analyzed community insights and determined that the best way to honor our quality standards is to extend the current season. This additional time allows our development team to further polish and optimize the upcoming Season 2 experience.
While Season 1 was originally slated to conclude on January 20, it will now remain active until the official launch of Season 2 on February 17. On January 20, we will deploy a comprehensive update for both Battlefield 6 and REDSEC, introducing fresh weekly objectives, an auxiliary progression track, and an extension of the Season 1 Battle Pass to keep the momentum going.
Furthermore, we are elevating the role of Battlefield Labs as our primary environment for public testing. By utilizing this platform for late-stage development previews, we are establishing a more robust foundation for the live service content arriving in Season 2 and beyond.

Season 1: January Update Briefing
Ahead of the January 20 deployment, our community team will release detailed patch notes outlining specific stability enhancements and bug fixes. You can review these technical logs, along with all previous archives, in the Game Updates section of our official site.
The Season 1 extension is packed with new incentives, including the Frostfire Bonus Path, a curated spotlight on unique Portal Community Experiences, multiple Double XP events, and daily rewards for active players.
Frostfire Bonus Path – Commencing January 27
Beginning January 27, players can engage with the Frostfire Bonus Path to unlock exclusive cosmetics, including a specialized Weapon Package, a new Soldier Skin, and various XP Boosts. While many rewards are accessible to all, certain premium tiers require ownership of the Season 1 Battle Pass.
Free-tier participants can earn Hardware XP Boosts, a custom Vehicle Skin, and new player card elements. Battle Pass holders will gain access to an expanded inventory featuring a Career XP Boost and additional high-tier customization options.
The Frostfire Bonus Path functions simultaneously with the standard Season 1 Battle Pass. Progress is tracked across both systems at once, meaning you never have to choose between your primary Battle Pass advancement and the Frostfire rewards. This path consists of 11 tiers, with each requiring 10 Bonus Path Points to unlock—totaling 110 points for completion.
Notably, all points for this specific path are earned exclusively through Weekly Challenges. There are no separate “Bonus Challenges” required; simply focus on your weekly objectives to advance. Point values vary by task difficulty, so be sure to check the in-game Challenges menu for a detailed breakdown of available rewards.
