UPDATE:
The rollout of Patch 7 has commenced for both console and Mac users! This new patch also includes Hotfix #26 and the latest addition, Hotfix #27, for all platforms. Explore the most recent patch notes here.
Hi everyone,
Ready to explore your darker side? Eager to experience the aftermath of letting your mischievous side take charge?
Wonderful! Patch 7 is making its debut on PC today! This update introduces new villainous conclusion cinematics, enhancements to Honour Mode, Legendary Actions, split-screen functionality, a fresh modding methodology, and a multitude of gameplay updates and bug resolutions.
For Mac and console aficionados, this significant patch is brimming with enhancements and fresh offerings, including official modding accessibility for all devices. However, it’s taking a bit longer than expected to complete all technical verifications. While delayed from initial estimations, anticipate Patch 7 on consoles and Mac by October. We’ll ensure you receive timely updates on our progress!
This means, regrettably, console users can’t utilize cross-saves originating from Patch 7 on PC and cross-platform gameplay with Mac is unavailable. We’re diligently working on enabling crossplay for Baldur’s Gate 3, and much like Patch 7, it demands extensive effort and testing before we release it into the broader gaming sphere.
There are more updates planned for Baldur’s Gate 3, with promises of crossplay and a photo mode among other enhancements. But as Swen mentioned at last week’s PAX West panel in Seattle – it was our last in-person panel for Baldur’s Gate 3 – our team will soon withdraw to tackle our next venture.
If you missed it, catch the panel here to reminisce about the development of Baldur’s Gate 3 and find answers to your most pressing inquiries.
Patch 7 represents a colossal undertaking, made possible through feedback from mod developers and players who engaged with it during the Closed Beta phase. Gratitude to everyone who participated. The playtest has concluded, and we’ll leverage these insights moving forward!
Patch 7 approximately requires 11.6GB on PC, along with 160GB of available space for installation. Should you encounter storage issues, we recommend uninstalling Baldur’s Gate 3 followed by a fresh download of the updated version!
As with every update, some third-party mods may face compatibility issues. Remove your mods to verify if issues persist. Should problems continue post-removal, contact our support team. Please be considerate of mod authors as they revise their mods where necessary!
Many third-party mods utilize the Script Extender. Tests conducted as part of the Toolkit and patch process should aid in maintaining Script Extender-reliant mods’ functionality with Patch 7.
Thanks to Norbyte, creator of Script Extender, and all the mod authors contributing feedback to the Toolkit! Your input was invaluable.
Rule the Sword Coast with unmatched dominion.
Fans who have wielded evil, pursued ancestral goals, or set their Origin character on a chaotic path will encounter 13 new cinematics showcasing diverse outcomes for their malevolent quests in Patch 7.
Streamers noted for discretion or using the ‘Show Cinematic Nudity’ in settings will find it renamed to ‘Show Sexual and Violent Cinematics’ for clarity. This control oversees explicit content and some intense violent moments. The new evil endings are incorporated into this content set due to their graphic nature.
This adjustment won’t influence your adventure, choices, or romance avenues, but will censor sexual and particularly violent scenes.
The dragon was hers, but what was the toll?
Starting anew or revisiting an ongoing battle with the Netherbrain? Your decisions will determine which of the new cinematics will unfold.
We clearly stated in Community Update #28 that those playing as the Dark Urge might witness a bard temporarily join the camp as a playable character if a slot is unoccupied.
Seems some misinterpreted that note.
No new companions here—just demise.
The day music met its end.
To fuel the sense of dread, we’ve refined Honour Mode combat, granting Malus Thorm a new Legendary Action dubbed Grasping Appendage. Quite unsettling indeed.
