Two days after her arrival, Tracer was temporarily disabled in Stadium. Blizzard hasn’t published a formal explanation, but the timing strongly suggests a response to an exploit shown in the clip above: players repeatedly bought upgrades, refunded them to recover funds, and then used Recall to keep the upgrade bonuses while retaining the refunded currency — an infinite loop of buffing and funding.

Some players reported Tracer builds pushing close to 2,000 HP — roughly four times the survivability of many tanks. Couple that with Tracer’s tiny hitbox and unmatched mobility, and you have a hero who is maddeningly difficult to finish off.
Trying to land enough damage to drop a nearly 2,000 HP, darting target is understandably frustrating, but there’s an ironic twist: a time-traveling hero exploiting a mechanic to, in effect, “launder” currency.
The online uproar forced Blizzard to reverse an Overwatch 2 change within 72 hours of its release, though the studio says it remains committed to building fresh, distinctive features.
