Olivia Rodrigo continues to lord it over the U.K. charts.
The U.S. teen phenom scores a second consecutive chart double as Sour (Geffen) enters week two atop the national albums survey and “Good 4 U” bags a second week at No. 1 on the U.K. singles chart.
Sour finishes the week some 17,000 chart sales ahead its nearest rival, Easy Life’s debut album Life’s A Beach (Island), with streams accounting for 75% of its total, the OCC reports.
By logging a second week at No. 1, Sour is now the longest-running leader of 2021, ended an unusual, 22-week run of one-week chart-champions.
Veteran Scottish band Texas earns a ninth Top 10 title and a highest chart position in more than two decades with Hi (BMG), new at No. 3.
Further down the list, Taylor Swift’s former No. 1 Evermore (EMI) blasts 70-4 following its release on vinyl, and Scottish outfit Del Amitri start at No. 5 with Fatal Mistakes (Cooking Vinyl), their first album in 19 years.
Meanwhile, “Good 4 U” holds top spot on the Official U.K. Singles Chart with 108,000 chart sales, including 12.6 million streams, according to the OCC. It’s one of three Sour tracks in the Top Ten, as “Déjà vu” dips 4-5, and the global hit “Drivers License” reenters at No. 6.
Another act scoring multiple entries in the Top 10 is Little Mix, the Brit Award-winning group whose “Heartbreak Anthem” (Atlantic/RCA) collaboration with Galantis and David Guetta improves 9-8, while “Confetti” (RCA) vaults 15-9.
The highest new entry on the current frame belongs to Stay Flee Get Lizzy’s “Meant To Be” (Ye), featuring rappers Central Cee and Fredo. It debuts at No. 17, for Central Cee’s fourth Top 20 hit and Fredo’s eighth.
Finally, Italian rockers Måneskin score a second Top 40 single in as many weeks with “I Wanna Be Your Slave” (Columbia), which zooms 59 places to No. 24, just one spot ahead of their 2021 Eurovision Song Contest winning single “Zitti E Buoni”.
