The first over-the-counter blood sugar level meter for iPhone has been approved

The US Food and Drug Administration has approved the Stelo Glucose system from Dexcom, which connects to the iPhone via Bluetooth.

The device is intended for diabetics who are not dependent on insulin, as well as for anyone who may be at risk of developing diabetes. Measurements are taken every 15 minutes, and the sensor can be worn for up to 15 days, after which a new one is purchased.

The ability to measure blood sugar levels was supposed to be in the first Apple Watch, but has not appeared so far. And the device from Dexcom will go on sale in the US this summer.
