We’ve been attentively listening to your suggestions and have tackled several problems to enhance your journey. Patch 5.22 is now available on Steam and will soon reach other platforms.
What’s New in This Update
- Ship and Collection Fixes:
- Resolved a glitch that allowed the Boundary Herald ship to be dismantled.
- Removed an incorrect notification that appeared when collecting Shattered Qualia.
- Companion Improvements:
- Fixed erratic behavior of flying pets when they’re being ridden.
- Corrected icons for the Outlaw System Decal and the Bioluminescent Companion egg in the Quicksilver Synthesis Companion.
- Addressed an issue preventing Bioluminescent Companions from hatching. If your egg didn’t hatch, you can now see the companion in your collection or claim a new egg from the Expedition Rewards at the kiosk.
- Environment and Visual Enhancements:
- Ensured Portal Breach and Glyph posters remain visible after saving and reloading.
- Fixed disappearing submerged abandoned buildings.
- Enabled color customization for Boundary Mandibles in the Appearance Modifier.
- Corrected depth calculations for the In Deep Water milestone in VR.
- Visual and Audio Updates:
- Updated the Boundary Herald’s engine visuals.
- Fixed visual bugs during the Boundary Horror attack and monstrosity death animations.
- Improved audio for the Bioluminescent Companion.
- VR Specific Fixes:
- Eliminated sky blurring during time-of-day transitions in The Cursed expedition.
- Enhanced the hazard vignette’s appearance when boundary strength decreases.
- Platform-Specific Fixes:
- Removed black outlines from particle trails on Mac.
- Fixed visual issues near large bases on Xbox.
- Stability Improvements:
- Resolved issues preventing some game saves from loading.
- Addressed a rare memory crash problem.
