Director Sarik Andreasyan has officially announced the casting for the role of Anatole Kuragin in his highly anticipated reimagining of Leo Tolstoy’s masterpiece, *War and Peace*.
The notorious antagonist will be portrayed by Matvey Lykov (noted for his role in *Major Grom: The Game*), while Stanislav Bondarenko is set to step into the shoes of Prince Andrei Bolkonsky. The screenplay was penned by Alexei Gravitsky, whose previous credits include *The Tale of Tsar Saltan* and *Life on Call*.
The cinematic debut of *War and Peace* is scheduled to hit Russian theaters on February 19, 2027.
