Paramount Pictures has officially slated the next installment of the “Paranormal Activity” horror franchise for a theatrical debut on May 21, 2027.
The eighth chapter in the long-running series will be directed by Ian Tuason (“The Half-Whisper”). Joining the project as producers are horror titan James Wan, the creative force behind “Saw” and “Insidious,” and Oren Peli, who directed the groundbreaking original film in 2008.
While specific plot details are currently being kept under wraps, the franchise has remained a powerhouse since its 2009 wide release, grossing a collective $890 million at the global box office. The most recent entry, “Next of Kin,” bypassed theaters for a streaming debut in 2021.
