Filmmaker Michael Angelo Covino, best known for his acclaimed indie hit The Climb, is officially moving forward with his next cinematic venture—a comedy titled The Last Fix, per Deadline.
The streaming giant Netflix has successfully secured the rights to the project. The narrative centers on a Boston-based professional assassin who is blindsided by the news that he has only six months to live. The screenplay was penned by Chuck MacLean (The Instigators). As of now, the lead cast and a specific release window remain under wraps.
Covino previously garnered international recognition when The Climb premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, earning significant praise from critics. While the film was originally slated for a Russian theatrical release this fall, the Ministry of Culture ultimately withheld its distribution license, preventing the movie from reaching local screens.
