PlayStation and Xbox users will soon experience the exact same uncompromising, hardcore version of the game currently enjoyed by PC players.
In a recent conversation, Battlestate Games head Nikita Buyanov detailed the studio’s strategy for bringing the tactical extraction shooter Escape from Tarkov to PlayStation and Xbox. He clarified that the console port will not be a “watered-down” edition; rather, the developers are committed to maintaining the high level of difficulty and the ruthless nature of the game that has become its hallmark on PC.
I am not interested in creating a “lite” version of EFT. Our core objective is to replicate the identical experience on consoles, which means no aim assistance and no simplification of game mechanics. I truly want to bring that same unforgiving gameplay to consoles, sharing this hardcore sensation with a much broader audience.
Joking about the game’s notorious difficulty, the studio head noted that his mission is to see players breaking their controllers out of pure frustration and intense adrenaline.
