NetEase is set to shutter yet another Marvel-licensed title.
NetEase Games has officially confirmed the winding down of MARVEL Mystic Mayhem, its team-based tactical RPG set within the Marvel Universe. Developers announced that active content production will conclude on April 1, 2026. However, the game will remain accessible until a total server shutdown, with the studio promising at least 60 days’ notice before the final sunset.
According to NetEase, in-game transactions will be phased out starting December 25, 2025. To express gratitude to the dedicated player base, the studio intends to distribute commemorative rewards to those remaining in the game during its final months.
Despite the impending closure, the studio plans to release several pre-scheduled narrative updates. In early 2026, the roster will expand with the addition of iconic characters such as Jean Grey, Venom, Wolverine, and Cyclops. Furthermore, the concluding chapter of the story campaign is slated for a January release.
This marks the second Marvel project from NetEase to be discontinued in recent years. This follows the June 2024 closure of the MOBA Marvel Super War, which enjoyed a five-year run. In contrast, Mystic Mayhem appears destined for a significantly shorter lifespan, likely failing to reach its first anniversary before being pulled from service.
