Build a Castle!
Kinlaig Needs Restoration
Kinlaig features two castles: one stands guard by the shore, while the other lies in ruin atop a hill. As part of the new construction projects, you can gather and deliver the necessary resources to rebuild the hillside ruin and restore it to its former grandeur.
Reconstruction is a multi-stage endeavour: deliver materials, manage logistics, and watch the structure take shape. Complete the project and the town will reward you with prestige — and the chance to figuratively crown yourself ruler of Kinlaig.
If historic restorations aren’t your priority, you can invest in productive infrastructure instead — for example, a windmill that both decorates the landscape and functions as a processing facility.
Once finished, the windmill processes harvested grain into flour, forming the first step of a longer production chain and creating new commercial opportunities for your farm.

New Products & Production Chains
Very Fishy…
Building the castle or windmill requires new resources beyond the familiar sawmill outputs. Highlands Fishing introduces a quarry and stonemason for heavy stone production, and additional facilities to produce roofing materials and other construction needs.

The expansion also adds a new crop, onions, and brings fishing into the wider production ecosystem. A notable addition is the fish feed factory: combine vegetable oil (sunflower, olive, canola, or rice), wheat, and soybeans to produce fish food — an essential input for aquaculture operations. You’ll also find new local selling points around town.
New Buildings & Decorative Options
Beautify Your Lands
Beyond machines and factories, Highlands Fishing adds a range of placeable buildings and decorations. Build a cozy settlement of log cabins, add yard ornaments, or expand your tool sheds and garages with charming details to match your farm’s character.
New tree species, shrubs, and meadow variants appear in the construction menu so you can plant attractive, natural-looking surroundings. The map also receives seasonal decorations — expect themed lighting and ornaments for events like Halloween and Christmas.
