On the second and third attempts, Steven will actively sabotage your progress by inflicting status ailments on your party, making the current run significantly harder. By the fourth reset, his anger shifts into something far more chilling: pure disappointment.
At this point, Steven will calmly declare, “Yeah, it’s over, give me the controller…” For the remainder of that run, he takes full control of your cats during every battle. Interestingly, Steven is actually quite proficient at the game, and while you can continue to save scum from that point on, he tends to execute his moves with the same ruthless efficiency every time.
