Currently, Starsand Island maintains an impressive 88% positive rating across more than 2,000 user submissions. While the bot-driven reviews appear to be a small fraction of the total, the developers remain vigilant about maintaining the integrity of their Steam page. Despite the odd controversy, critical and player consensus suggests the game is fundamentally strong, making the unsolicited bot campaign even more puzzling.
Seed Sparkle Lab has directly called for an end to the automated activity. “Whoever is responsible for this wave of bots, we ask you to stop,” they urged. “Our only goal is to develop our game in peace; we aren’t a threat to anyone.”
Editor’s Note: Many players are finding that Starsand Island addresses common gripes with the genre, earning it a ‘Very Positive’ status just days into its release journey.
