Let’s be clear: majority of PC players who want a specific game will buy it on Epic if it’s exclusive there. This is backed by real sales data across all major markets, including North America and Europe (excluding Asia, first year after launch). https://t.co/AMzPqDAHMs

While various titles have launched under Epic Games Store exclusivity over the years, Remedy’s Alan Wake 2 stands as one of the few recent projects of comparable magnitude. While specific PC revenue figures for that game haven’t been shared, it took until the end of 2024 for the survival horror title to achieve full profitability across all platforms.
Critics argue that skipping Steam—the dominant PC platform—could hinder sales potential, but without transparent data, such arguments remain speculative. Many players vocally express their preference for Steam, yet the true weight of their boycotts is difficult to measure without hard numbers.
The ultimate success of this strategy for Lords of the Fallen 2 remains to be seen. Tyminski previously noted that Epic had provided a “significant investment” for the project, likely offering the developers a financial safety net. The sequel is currently slated for a 2026 release, arriving just three years after its predecessor, though further gameplay details remain under wraps.
CI Games leadership also addressed community feedback regarding character designs, stating the sequel will focus on “continued improvement” as they build upon the foundation of the 2023 Soulslike hit.
