Liam Gallagher has confirmed he will no longer fling his tambourine or maracas into the crowd during Oasis concerts, pointing to safety concerns after several fans sustained injuries.

This announcement coincides with the band’s long-awaited Live ’25 reunion tour—their first in 16 years—which kicked off in July with shows in Cardiff, followed by appearances in Manchester and London.

During this week’s performances at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium, Gallagher informed the audience that the beloved instrument-tossing tradition has been officially discontinued.

“I can’t chuck my tambourine or maracas tonight — I’ve been told not to,” he quipped. “I’m not being tight, but they said, ‘Stop that s**t, because people can’t keep their hands to themselves.’”

The ban follows a recent incident at London’s Wembley Stadium, where a 42-year-old fan was injured after catching one of the maracas and then being jostled by others trying to seize it. She later shared photographs of her bruises with the media.

Tragically, earlier this month at a separate Wembley concert, a fan died after falling in the crowd.

Oasis will headline two nights at Dublin’s Croke Park on August 16, before launching their North American leg at Toronto’s Rogers Centre on August 24 and 25, with subsequent dates in Chicago, New Jersey, Los Angeles and Mexico City.
