While most are settling into the quiet lull of the holiday season, Dom Dolla is busy redefining the limits of Australian electronic music. On Saturday, December 20, the dance music titan—born Dominic Matheson—shattered industry milestones by performing to a capacity crowd of over 40,000 fans at Sydney’s Allianz Stadium.

This monumental event, orchestrated by Untitled Group, Laneway Presents, and TEG Live, represented the largest headline show of Matheson’s career. More significantly, it marked the first time an Australian DJ has ever headlined a stadium on home soil. This achievement follows an explosive 2024, where his national tour moved upwards of 170,000 tickets across just four dates.

“Witnessing Dom’s evolution—from his early days to orchestrating a stadium spectacle of this magnitude—has been nothing short of extraordinary,” remarked Nicholas Greco, co-founder of Untitled Group. “As the first domestic electronic artist to command an Australian stadium, he has proven just how deeply this genre resonates when delivered at such a massive scale.”

The evening featured a robust lineup of support, including international heavyweights KETTAMA and Fcukers, alongside the formidable local talent Anna Lunoe. To commemorate the historic feat, Matheson was honored backstage with a special trophy recognizing his unprecedented contribution to the Australian music landscape.

The Allianz Stadium crowd was treated to a sensory masterclass. The setlist featured a seamless blend of unreleased IDs, exclusive remixes, and nostalgic ‘90s rave anthems, all synchronized with a cutting-edge display of pyrotechnics, lasers, and immersive visuals. A highlight of the night occurred when British vocalist Clementine Douglas joined him on stage for a stirring rendition of “Miracle Maker.”

In a poignant moment during the set, Matheson addressed the crowd to pay tribute to the victims of the Bondi Beach tragedy. “Look after yourselves, Sydney. I love you guys,” he told the audience, promising a swift return to the city.

The summer momentum continues as Dolla prepares to take the coveted New Year’s Eve countdown slot at Beyond The Valley, followed by headline appearances at Wildlands in Perth and Brisbane. These performances cap off a banner year that included prestigious residencies in Las Vegas and Ibiza, multiple sold-out nights at Madison Square Garden, and a high-profile contribution to the F1: The Movie soundtrack with “No Room For a Saint.”

Dom’s domestic dominance was recently cemented at the 2025 ARIA Awards, where he secured his third consecutive win for Best Dance/Electronic Release for “Dreamin” (featuring DAYA). He also became the inaugural recipient of the Global Impact Award, acknowledging his status as Australia’s premier musical export in the electronic space.

Fans can expect a prolific 2026. While a full-length album remains in the works, Matheson recently teased fans regarding his upcoming output: “I’m writing constantly right now. While the album might take a little longer, I can promise a wealth of new music is coming next year. I’m incredibly excited about what we’ve been cooking up in the studio.”
