For the past couple of months, Lenny Tavarez has been blessing fans with a wave of new music, culminating Thursday (May 27) in his debut solo album Krack, released via Warner Music Latina.
Tavarez, who kicked off his solo career after leaving Puerto Rican duo Dylan and Lenny, calls the album his “first opportunity at life.” He’s also grateful for his new record label giving him total creative liberty with the album strategy.
“I decided to launch the album progressively, in four seasons, because I wanted fans to digest all the flavors, sounds, and lyrics that it brings,” he tells Billboard.
Home to 14 tracks, including “La Neta,” “A Cien” and focus track “Lo Tengo Todo,” the set includes collaborations with Nicky Jam, Rauw Alejandro, Zion & Lennox and Natanael Cano, to name a few.
Though Tavarez has released the singles sporadically and in groups, the album has been nearly five years in the making.
“My intention is to do different music without changing the genre,” he says. “Krack was created with a lot of sacrifices and stories of perseverance.”

“A Cien”
“I feel that this song represents who Lenny Tavarez is from the perspective of the fan. I express myself melodically. It starts off as a ballad but transitions into a reggaeton. It’s a lot of my style. I’m always changing.”
“Enfermo de Riqueza” ft. Natanael Cano, Ovi
“It totally took me out of my comfort zone. It’s different and very patriotic. I feel that anyone who listens to it will feel identified. I felt that I could bring something different to the corridos genre and it’s become one of my favorite songs on the album.”
“Me Enamora” ft. Zion & Lennox
I’ve had this song for four years now. If it wasn’t with Zion & Lennox, I didn’t plan to release it. I feel that it proposes what’s missing in the genre. It reminds me of that old-school reggaeton from Wisin & Yandel.
“Lo Tengo Todo”
“I decided to make this the focus track of the album because I really opened up. In the lyrics, I’m thankful for life and everyone who surrounds me. I have good friends and a team that has supported me from the beginning.”
“Kush” ft. Rauw Alejandro
“This song is very fresh and sounds very mainstream. It’s really cool. Wait until you see our dance moves in the video, it’s incredible.”
