La Roux has criticized Fox Business Network for utilizing her 2009 hit “Bulletproof” to soundtrack a section on bulletproof clothes for teenagers. The section, which aired with the tagline “Back to School Safety,” gave an outline of a line of “high-end bulletproof backpacks and clothing” which can be “revamping the protective equipment market.” In a press release to Pitchfork, La Roux’s Elly Jackson says, “Using ‘Bulletproof,’ a song I wrote about relationships, for a piece like this is abhorrent. I have never, and would never approve my music to be used in this way.”
