Kingdom Come Creator Continues to Battle AI Opponents, Urging Them to Trade Cars for Horses

Daniel Vávra has fired back at critics by sharing a vintage 1915 advertisement as a pointed rebuttal.

Daniel Vávra, co-founder of Warhorse Studios and the creative force behind the Kingdom Come series, is a prominent figure on social media. Lately, he has dedicated much of his online presence to challenging those who oppose the integration of artificial intelligence in game development.

Vávra previously voiced his support for Larian Studios, urging the public to grow accustomed to AI. He maintains that these tools are becoming indispensable, as they significantly lower production costs and drastically shorten development timelines.

In his latest jab at AI skeptics, Vávra posted a now-legendary 1915 advertisement by Ed Klein to his X account. This ad has long since transitioned into a meme, often utilized by tech innovators to highlight the futility of resisting technological progress.

Ed Klein owned a harness and saddlery shop in Lawrence, Kansas, and earned his place in history through a print ad published in the Lawrence Journal-World in 1915. At a time when cars were rapidly replacing horse-drawn carriages, Klein attempted to save his fading industry by listing the “advantages” of a horse over an automobile. He cited the low cost of hay compared to fuel, the absence of mechanical failures—noting that a horse has no carburetor to break—and its superior reliability in snow and mud, where early cars frequently became stuck.
